Is Christian or Christianity any Creator Gifted Name

The Names “Christian” and “Christianity”

The term “Christian” has come from a Greek word “Christianos (Χριστιανός)” which means “Follower of Christos (Χριστός)”. Here, some points to be noted that:

  • According to English Language, the word “Christ” has no meaning, but it has come from a Greek word “Christos (Χριστός)” which means “Anointed One”. It was never a name or a title of Jesus (Ŷéshúa/Isa). Neither Jesus used this name, nor did anyone call him in this name. This term “Christos (Χριστός)” was used by the Greek pagan religious groups for their gods even since before the beginning of Christianity.
  • “Christos” and “Christianos” both are Greek name, while Jesus never talked in Greek, because his mother language was Aramaic (an almost similar language of Arabic).
  • According to the Biblical History, the name “Christian” or “Christianos” was never used or given by Jesus or his disciples. It is found that, the non-Christians of Antioch began to call the disciples of Jesus as “Christianos” as it is written that:

“… And in Antioch the disciples were first called Christians.”

(Bible, Acts 11:26)

And a long time later, the follower of Jesus began to identify themselves as Christian.

  • The followers of Christ identify their religion as “Christianity” and say this as the True Religion of God. But Abraham, Moses, Eli, Daniel, even Jesus, or anyone before Jesus, or any other Prophets never followed any religion named as “Christianity”. On the other hand, the Angels are also under the laws of God, but it is impossible for them to identify themselves as “Christian”. But it is true that, since the beginning the entire universe is the “Follower of God” therefore the “Submitter to God”

So it is clear that, “Christian” and “Christianity” are not any proper name to use as a name of any religion, but still people use this name because of their traditional practice of using this name.

Christianity

Christianity is worlds one of the largest religious group. Almost 2.2 billion of world population is Christian. According to the report of Status of Global Mission 2009 this entire Christianity is divided into almost 40,000 Denominations among whom the beliefs, cultures and activities vary greatly. But some specific beliefs are common among all these denominations (sects), which are accepted by all the Christian Churches. According to Christianity these beliefs are:

First Council of Nicea (325) First Council of Constantinople (381)
We believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of all things visible and invisible. We believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.
And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, begotten of the Father [the only-begotten; that is, of the essence of the Father, God of God], Light of Light, very God of very God, begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father; And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all worlds, Light of Light, very God of very God, begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father;
By whom all things were made [both in heaven and on earth]; By whom all things were made;
Who for us men, and for our salvation, came down and was incarnate and was made man; Who for us men, and for our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Ghost of the Virgin Mary, and was made man;
He suffered, and the third day he rose again, ascended into heaven; He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered, and was buried, and the third day he rose again, according to the Scriptures, and ascended into heaven, and sited on the right hand of the Father;
From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. From thence he shall come again, with glory, to judge the quick and the dead;
  Whose kingdom shall have no end.
And in the Holy Ghost. And in the Holy Ghost, the Lord and Giver of life, who proceeded from the Father, who with the Father and the Son together is worshiped and glorified, who spoke by the prophets.

  In summary, the Christian beliefs are:

  • Jesus is God.
  • Jesus is begotten of the Heavenly God, and the Son of that Heavenly God.
  • Jesus has created the Entire Universe (Heavens and the Planets).
  • Jesus is the Savior who can give us Salvation.
  • Jesus suffered, crucified, died, buried, and rose from the death in the third day.
  • Jesus is the Incarnation of the Heavenly God, who came on the earth as a Man.
  • Jesus will be the Judge of mankind at the Day of Judgment.
  • Holy Spirit is God. We have to worship Holy Spirit too.

This set of beliefs written above has been established religiously after 4th Century. And, according to the Christian Law, to be a Christian a person has to believe on all of these. But, these beliefs generally arise some questions, which are:

  • If Jesus is God, then how he can be the Son of God?
  • If Jesus has created the Entire Universe (which includes heavens and planets) then what the Heavenly God has created for us?
  • If Jesus is the Savior and if he gives us Salvation, then what the Heavenly God gives us? Doesn’t it mean that the Heavenly God is neither our Savior, nor gives us Salvation?
  • If Jesus is our Judge then what is the action of the Heavenly God?
  • If God is all in all, and there is Angels who works for him, then why another God called Holy Spirit is necessary? Is truly Holy Spirit the God?

A strange fact is that, if we look at the History of Bible in Old Testament or in the World History, we will find that, since the beginning till 1st century the beliefs were:

  • God is one.
  • God is not begotten, and can’t have any son or wife.
  • Only God has created the Entire Universe.
  • God is the Savior who can give us Salvation.
  • God can’t die, and God or no one needs to die for another’s sin.
  • God can’t be Human, and never hold any Human form to come in front of mankind.
  • God will Judge mankind.
  • God’s spirit is unique, and not comparable with anyone else.

Adam, Abraham, Moses, Eli, David, Isaiah and all other prophets accepted and preached the above beliefs according to the will of GOD. But unfortunately after the era of Jesus, the pagan Greek and Roman people who were converted and involved in the Religion (The Religion that was revealed through the Prophets among the people of Israel) of Almighty Creator, changed their beliefs. And that changed form of belief is now existing as “Christianity”.
