Is Islam a religion of aggressiveness and fight? What does Islam teach about Love and Mercy?Learn about these important topics from this article… Love is an unchangeable, unselfish, boundless and holy relation of mind. Love is such a power that helps us in the Way of Allah to be a perfect one. Allah loves His creation, and teaches His creation to love each other. This is because:

  • If one has love for his Almighty, then he can’t disobey his Almighty, and surely will respect the Almighty.
  • If one has love for his Life Partner, Children, Parents, Relatives then he can’t do anything wrong with them.
  • If you have love for yourself, then you can’t do anything that harms you.
  • If you have true love for mankind, then you can’t harm any person.

About Loving the Creation of Allah, Quran teaches that:

“(Don’t follow) the Cruel …”

(Quran, Al Qalam 68:13)

“… Deal not unjustly (with people), and you shall not be dealt with unjustly.”

(Quran, Al Baqarah 2:279)

“… Don’t obey the one who swears much and is a liar (because such people never keep their promises). (Don’t follow) a slanderer, (or) a backbiter.”

(Quran, Al Qalam 68:10-11)

“… Avoid much suspicion; indeed some suspicions are sins. And spy not, neither backbite one another …”

(Quran, Al Hujurat 49:12)

“… Let not a group scoff at another group; it may be that the latter are better than the former. Nor let (some) women scoff at other women, it may be that the latter are better than the former. Nor defame one another, nor insult one another by nicknames. How bad is it to insult one’s brother after having Faith!”

(Quran, Al Hujurat 49:11)

“… ascribe not purity to yourselves …”

(Quran, An Najm 53:32)

Allah likes not prideful boasters.

“The way (of blame) is only against those who oppress men and rebel in the earth without justification …”

“… turn not your face away from men with pride, nor walk in insolence through the earth. Verily, Allah likes not any arrogant boaster. And be moderate in your walking, and lower your voice …”

(Quran, Luqman 31:18-19)

“… say those words that are the best. (Because) Shaitan verily, sows a state of conflict and disagreements among them. Surely, Shaitân is to man a plain enemy.”

(Quran, Al Isra 17:53)

“… Repel (the evil deeds) with one which is better, then verily he, between whom and you there was enmity, (will become) as though he was a close friend.”

(Quran, Fussilat 41:34)

“Show forgiveness, enjoin what is good, and (not giving punishment just) turn away from the foolish …”

(Quran, Al A’raf 7:199)

“ … verily, whosoever shows patience and forgives, that would truly be from the things recommended by Allah.”

(Quran, Ash Shura 42:43)

“… whoever forgives and makes reconciliation, his reward is with Allah. Verily, He likes not the Wrong-Doers”

(Quran, Ash Shura 42:40)

“Those who spend (for the Cause of Allah) in prosperity and in adversity, who repress anger, and who pardon men; verily, Allah loves (those) Good-Doers.”

(Quran, Al Imran 3:134)

“… Let them (believers) pardon and forgive. Do you not love that Allah should forgive you? …”

(Quran, Aln Nur 24:22)

“… what will make you know the steep path (that is difficult)? (It is) freeing a slave; or giving food in a day of hunger; to an orphan near of kin; or to a poor cleaving to dust (out of misery) …”

(Quran, Al Balad 90:12)

“… do good to parents, kinsfolk, orphans, the poor, the neighbor who is near of kin, the neighbor who is a stranger, the companion by your side, the wayfarer (you meet), and those (slaves) whom your right hands possess …”

(Quran, An Nisa 4:36)

“Spend of the good things (for the believers, the poor and for the Cause of Allah) which you have earned (legally), and of that which I have produced from the earth for you, and do not aim at that which is bad to spend from it, (when) you would not accept it …”

(Quran, Al Baqarah 2:267)

“(Charity is surely) for the poor, who are restricted (from travel) in the cause of Allah, and cannot move about in the land (for work) …”

(Quran, Al Baqarah 2:273)

“If you disclose your charities, it is well (as an example in front of the disbelievers); but if you conceal them and give them to the poor, that is better for you (in the way of controlling your pride).”

(Quran, Al Baqarah 2:271)

“… let not those among you who are blessed with (heavenly) graces and (worldly) wealth swear not to give (any sort of help) to their kinsmen, the poor, and those who left their homes for Allah’s Cause …”

(Quran, Aln Nur 24:22)

“… come not near to the orphan’s property except to improve it …”

(Quran, Al Isra 17:34)

“And eat up not one another’s property unjustly, nor give bribery to the (worldly) rulers (for your cases) that you may knowingly eat up a part of the property of others sinfully.”

(Quran, Al Baqarah 2:188)

“… do not kill anyone whose killing Allah has forbidden, except for a just cause (according to the Teaching of Allah) …”

(Quran, Al Isra 17:33)

“… if anyone killed a person – unless it be for killing a person (illegally), or to spread mischief in the land – it would be as if he killed all mankind, and if anyone saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of all mankind …”

(Quran, Al Ma’idah 5:32)

“… Verily, among your wife and your children there are enemies for you (who may stop you from the obedience of Allah); therefore beware of them! But if you pardon (them) and overlook, and forgive (their faults), then verily Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful (to them, and surely to all).”

(Quran, Al Taghabun 64:14)

About Loving Allah it is written in Quran that:

“… those who believe (Allah), (they) love Allah more (than anything else) …”

(Quran, Al Baqarah 2:165)

In this way Quran teaches mankind to Love Allah, and His Creation. If one holds the Love of Allah, then he can’t do anything bad. So, LOVE is the root of all the Commandments of Allah.

Now, let’s check some questions:

  • Is Quran teaching to be aggressive and hard minded cruel person?
  • Is Quran teaching not to establish love and peace?

It is sure that the answer of these questions is, NO.

Quran never teaches to hurt, hate or kill any human being. Quran teaches to Love each and every person of the mankind whether he/she is good or bad. Quran teaches to Love the Almighty Creator Allah most.
